Spring has Sprung

The weather is wonderful and we're all enjoying it.
The garden has been planted....

The flowers are in bloom...

And we're spending the weekends outside. Today we visited Wil's favorite park, the firetruck park. It a bit of a drive so we don't get to go often but this turned out to be the perfect day!

Yesterday, Saturday, was a crazy day...HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!!
We spent a few hours out at the National Sea Shore Park enjoying great music, and lots of educational booths. Wil was sent on a scavenger hunt, he had a little booklet he had to take around to every booth where he was to learn information and then answer a question. If he answered the question correct they stamped his book. In the end he got a prize, a little rubber butterfly! But really the prize was all the knowledge he gained and the path he had to take to get all his stamps. I think the top three booths were the pinch pot table, he got to make a pinch pot and learned that the 'Mad Potter' who lived almost 200 years ago had a mustache (like Papa) but his was 2 feet long, he could tuck it behind his ears! The other fact he found to be silly was that long ago people used the Sweet Gum Tree to brush their teeth! Now think like a 3yr old he probably pictured people rubbing their teeth on the tree or people taking branches and scrubbing their teeth, silly! He also learned the state bird, Northern Mocking Bird, and the state reptile, Alligator. Something he wouldn't do that Claira did was touch a horseshoe crab. She thought that was fantastic. But mostly she ran around picking up sticks and playing in the shrimp net. The shrimp net was neat. It was set up so show how it had a escape hatch type thing for the sea turtles. Now Claira didn't care much why it had this neat trap door but she had fun climbing through it and William did learn and have fun.
Like this event wasn't enough for the day I had to rush Wil over to a place called 'Pump It Up' for his friends birthday party. What a crazy place that is. A large building full of blow-up equipment, jump houses, slides, mazes etc. They played till they were red in the face, crazy and starving. That is the best time to shovel 3 pieces of pizza, 1 piece of cake, an ice cream and 2 juice boxes! William left sweaty, sugar high, and excited to tell his little sister all about it.
We returned home to find Claira just waking up from her nap and a clean house, Daddy was busy while we were gone!!!! The kids enjoyed their party favors, yes Claira got favors too! And Wil even asked his friends mommy if he could bring an ice cream home for her, their really is a sweet boy within that crazy 3 year old boy.
