Sibling Love

There are moments as parents where you think, can it get any worse? Then there are moments when you think, Dam I'm doing a good job! Today we had a two moments of each. I share them though because the good moments just melted our hearts and made us realize that our two little monster truly and deeply love each other.

After nap time we took the kids swimming and I was not shocked when I asked the kids to come put sun block on and they came running yelling, "I win, I win". Like normal William arrived at my feet first and Claira was very angry, and this time she was not going to stand in 2nd. She shoved him so hard he fell. He was praised for not crying, "Claira! no pushing" he told her. I quickly followed suit, and I could feel him nodding his little head pleased with my discipline.

On our outing to the neighbors pool Claira got very upset that she couldn't wear Wil's goggles, and wanted to know where her's were. I had never thought to buy my 1 year old goggles. So while I was out getting some cilantro for the salsa I grabbed a pair of cheap pink goggles. She was so excited, put them on and ran into the bathroom yelling "WEE WEE! Ink, Oggles MINE!" in reply we hear Wil say, "Wow, Claira those are cool. You look beautiful!" Little Claira walked out of that bathroom so proud.

Not too long after they were playing in their room, and I knew by the sounds of it they were up to no good. I heard something about jumping and then lots of crying screaming in pain. It was Claira, she had been pushed. Wil was having such a good time jumping off their desk that he had convinced Claira to climb up and well she decided not to jump but before she could climb back down she was PUSHED! yes, it was his turn to have the talk and let her stand back and nod her head.

At the end of they day they melted our hearts again. William who got to stay up Super Dooper Late (extra 1/2 hour) because he took a nap asked for a kiss and hug from Claira who was in my arms heading off to bed. She puckered up and opened her arms welcoming his love. Then as if that wasn't enough he said, "I love you Claira. Sweet Dreams!"

God Bless those two monsters.
